Children's Aid Society
The Children's Aid Society
is a voluntary, non-sectarian agency that provides a broad spectrum of health, education, recreation, and emergency services to New York City's neediest children and families. It is one of the oldest and largest welfare agencies in the country, founded in 1853 by Charles Loring Brace. Today, the Society has over 550 full-time staff and 800 part-time reaching 120,000 children and families through centers and schools in the city's poorest neighborhoods.
The Children's Aidi Society has created a fund specifically for the benefit of children of the vicitms of the World Trade Center disaster.
